The Erie Situation at Water Docs Film Festival

RegenTO collaborates with this juried festival of amazing documentaries about climate and water. Water Docs showcases some of the newest and best environmental documentaries from around the world. As the closing event we showed The Erie Situation, an eye-opening film about toxic algae blooms in our Great Lakes watershed.

Toledo, Ohio citizens had to go without running water for three days when the highly toxic algae entered the drinking water plant from Lake Erie.

Everyone was inspired by the knowledge and passion of our panelists, who shared exciting ways people can get involved with programs of regeneration.

Tables outside the auditorium provided opportunities to interact and learn more about these important initiatives, and how to create positive change.

“As climate, politics, and agricultural interests collide, the health of Lake Erie – and that of humans and wildlife – hang in the balance.”

LEARN: See our Water Docs page for how to watch the film and meet our panelists.
